Spring Summer 2012 is all about the Twenties. There have been a number of suggestions as to why the era - made famous for its Art Deco Motifs’, jazz bars and glamorous flapper girl fashions – has been revived for the season ahead. Whether it’s the celebration of Gucci’s 91^st birthday, Ralph Lauren looking to revive from the archives, Marc Jacobs trying to put a 21^st century spin on the glamorous years - and failing rather miserably might I add – or simply in curious anticipation of Baz Luhrmann’s take on The Great Gatsby. Whatever’s sparked the trend, one thing’s for sure, it’s here, and it’s fabulous!

Marc Jacobs: His choice in fabric, for his clothing, was certainly questionable - his models looked nothing short of a prize Easter egg wrapped in cellophane – but his choice in hosiery, although simple, fitted the bill perfectly. Cute ankle socks, almost identical to the Jonathan Aston Plain Anklet Socks - £5.49, were worn with scallop detailed heels. Other hosiery choices included stockings, without suspenders, creating a ‘Nora Batty’ ruched style which looked fab on the catwalk, but I’m not sure how it would translate in the real world – it may look as though you need your hosiery hoisting up!
