Sheer
Last season marked the return of sheer black tights to the catwalk. This Spring, we're continuing the trend with sheer coloured 15 denier tights in an array of pretty shades, from pastels to primary brights. Match them up to the colour of your outfit as shown here at Moschino or choose contrasting colours such as lime and purple for impact.
Front Seamed
Hot off the catwalk - Wolford Paloma Tights - sheer tights with front seams to make legs look long and elegant. William Tempest showed them on his models and started a brand new trend. Wear them as knee highs for a younger more playful look. Seamed hosiery is an elegant, grown-up trend, so choose back-seamed sheer stockings to wear when teaming them with beautiful lingerie.
Toeless
Tights and over the knees without toes are the most stylish way to pull off the feat of wearing tights with sandals. Nina Ricci showed black sheer toeless on the catwalk and we've got a selection of opaques and stirrup tights to show off your perfectly manicured tootsies! - Our over the knee toeless socks look super sexy.
Polka Dots & Peacock
We love this ultra feminine look of pretty peacock shapes and polka dots. The peacock lace tops on Falke's hold-ups are so beautiful, you'll be proud to wear them! Dots were everywhere on the catwalk. For super chic style "Minnie" tights from Wolford have dots up the back - "spot on!" Look out for black polka dot tights coming though as the biggest fashion trend for Autumn and Winter 09
Monochrome
Black hosiery never looks out of date and we've seen some pretty cold days in spring, so stocking up on black hosiery is well worth it. Choose from black sheer, fishnet, footless, stirrup tights, opaques and over the knees. White sheer tights are very pretty and Wolford satin touch 20 are a good choice for wearing to weddings and to wear with floaty summer dresses. White opaque's are more current and are on trend for casual wear. White ankle socks are perfect for holidays too!
Dip Dye
Dip dye and paint effects patterns were seen on many catwalks such as Aquascutum, Dries Van Noten and Burberry. Our pretty socks from Falke are similar to those on the Cheap & Chic catwalk show and the Falke Lopez hold-ups show off their graduating colour so beautifully. The paint effect shows of stripes and blocks of colour with a hand painted feel. Some clothes were even made from fabric that looked like real paintings! Copy the look with opaques in bold bright primary colours.
The trend for shiny and metallic shades is very strong again this season with gold, silver, pewter and zinc being the key colour palette for legs. The wet look is also a very popular trend, try Levante wet look capris in silver, gold and black. Gloss opaques from Jonathan Aston in zinc, pewter and storm are warm when it's a bit nippy outside, and when you want your legs to get noticed - Satin de Luxe tights in silver from Wolford, Dublin tights in gold from Cette and Pamela Mann tights in gold and silver are right on trend.
Nautical
Every Spring there is a nautical collection and we fell in love with this image from D&G- we've matched up the fishnets perfectly with Falke Safari Net Tights. There are plenty of great ways to add a nautical flavour to your look - choose from footless, opaques, sheers and socks in red, white, navy blue and gold.
Patterned
Patterns and prints made a huge impact on the catwalk last season and they are here to stay this Spring. They look fabulous worn underneath shorts and minis - a great way to jazz up last Spring's clothes with a new twist!
Footless
Footless tights are our most popular trend so far this season. Wear them in the evening with a sparkly top or in the day under cropped denim shorts. They fit the bill when you want to look summery, but feel your legs need keeping warm. Footless tights are perfect to take to festivals where they can be worn with thick socks and wellies in the wet and with flip flops in the sunshine.
